Oregon Coast
On to Oregon! This photo was taken near Lakeview Oregon, right on the California border.
Mount Thielson, near Crater Lake. My bother and his son hiked to the top of this peak. I am happy to say nobody fell to his death.
"Ocean in view, oh the joy." Ok, Lewis and Clark spotted the Pacific at Astoria and this is Bandon. Still, an awesome and inspiring sight. This was the view from our hotel at Sunset Beach.

Farnsworth Firecrackers
These are the awesome people I worked with for the past four years.
I am third from the right on the back row. I really just wanted to see if I could get this photo in here. I took it from a friend's facebook post.

Google Reader
Here are three blogs that I am going to follow via Google Reader (RSS).
Birds and Nature at http://craigglenn.blogspot.com/
Includes photos and videos of numerous birds and interesting wildlife. The video about a deer that protects a mother goose is amazing. Check it out.
Gardening at http://carletongarden.blogspot.com/A journal on home gardening. Particularly interesting to me right now as I am in the process of putting in a vegetable garden. Includes fantastic photos.
Reader's Choice Awards at http://www.slcreaderschoice.blogspot.com/
News and information on the twice annual reader's choice awards offered through the Salt Lake County Library.

Three Educational Blogs
Sarah Plain and Tall at http://sarahplainandtall.blogspot.com
I really like the simple style of this blog. It would be so easy to use a blog like this for any book that your class is reading. Instead of having kids write about the book, let them post to a blog. Fun and easy!
Mr. C's Class at http://mrcsclassblog.blogspot.com
This blog has a huge assortment of ideas for using a blog in your classroom. Mr. C says it is to model the use of technology to teachers and students. The blog has a survey, kids writing assignments, posts about what kids have learned in math, and links to a myriad of educational sites such as the library, current events, current weather, and keyboarding games.
Lutherville iLab at http://luthervilleilab.edublogs.org/
This school blog has photos, slideshows, and videos showing what kids are learning. Kids can post comments about their projects and learning, and parents can see what is happening at school. It's an appealing blog with lots of fun ideas for not only using a blog, but for teaching.
